Camp PolyHacks is a multidisciplinary hackathon that is dedicated to fostering innovation through human-centered design.

This hackathon is strictly limited to students of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo who have applied and been accepted through our application system. All other submissions from participants not matching the description above will not be considered for judging purposes.

• Innovation and creativity
  Is the app unique? Does something similar already exist? If so, what makes their app better than the preexisting app? Did the app fit the trail? Does the app seem like it can solve the problem that it set out to solve?
• Design
  Can the app be easily used by brand new users? Does the app design flow well or is it just cluttered? Does the app have a professional look? Does it have a users guide? If it’s a command line app, does it have all the required manuals?
• Technical qualities
  Are all major bugs solved? Is the app secure? How do they deal with major security vulnerabilities? Were they able to scope their program efficiently?
• Pitch and Presentation
  Was their pitch interesting to watch? Were they professional when they gave their pitch? Did they target the correct audience? Were they able to effectively sell their product?
• Extensibility
  Will they be able to expand on this in the future? Can the app potentially solve more than the project they originally set out to solve? Are the next steps obtainable?
